This blanket was made as a gift for my cousin’s new baby-girl. I actually never got to meet her, because I was sick on her one-month birthday and just a couple of days later I went travelling. I have only seen her on the pictures.
I chose the pattern to be girly and princess-like. Butterflies, no matter which way you look at it.
As usual, I also cross-stitched her name and date of birth and of course my favourite part – Minnie Baby.
I have used this cross-stitch alphabet for most of my projects, with little modifications here and there. I don’t have any charts for the numbers, though. Ages ago I cross-stitched a pillow for my better half with our names and “our date”. I use those numbers as an example to draw missing ones. I never found the chart again, it has been almost 7 years.
You can use the numbers on this chart, though:
I got those patterns free online. In addition to baby-Minnie, you can find Donald, Daisy and Pluto.
Next to the name-corner I crocheted one big butterfly. It was done separately from a very thin yarn and then sewed on.I used the left-one.
The materials used:
100% pink merino wool, about 9 x 50g + a few white balls for the edge , circular needles (4 mm), fleece and pink dotted ribbon.
I recommend to sew the ribbon-bows from the middle, as it will become a nuisance to tie them 10 times a day. Your baby will somehow find a way to untie them:)
