I have been travelling for a while, mostly in tropical countries, which essentially means no yarn-stores for me. And in short – we prefer not to carry too much luggage, so I haven’t started ordering anything online. Besides, I like to touch and feel the yarn before purchasing.
However, a couple of weeks ago I was visiting Australia and THEY have yarn stores! With no particular idea in mind, I just decided to knit a baby-cardigan in neutral colours. So I could give it as a gift or keep it to myself. Ugh, there were no beautiful neutral colours (in natural wool), so I went with dark blue and natural white.
I just recently started this blog. I have never really blogged about knitting or any other crafts. And I have no idea why, because it has become my biggest passion and it has been in my life since I can remember. Also it’s a good way to document the things I have made in the past and that I will make in the future.
I knitted my first ever baby-dress for a cousin’s baby-girl. She was born in August 2012. I aimed to make her a beautiful dress for her first Christmas Eve at the age of 3 months. It turned out to be a very flexible dress and she also wore it at Christmas 2013 at the age of 1 year, 3 months.
This blanket was made as a gift for my cousin’s new baby-girl. I actually never got to meet her, because I was sick on her one-month birthday and just a couple of days later I went travelling. I have only seen her on the pictures.
I chose the pattern to be girly and princess-like. Butterflies, no matter which way you look at it.
